Certigrade number 3 grade black label shingles are of a lower grade for applications where an economy product is acceptable. 3 grade black label western red cedar shingles. Recommended for economy applications and garden structures. These are highly durable grade 3 western red cedar shingles from canada where they have been used as an exterior building material for centuries particuarly for roofing applications. Black label shingles do allow a small amount of tight secure knots and occasional knot holes but to the top third of the shingle so none are visible when fixed.

No 1 grade blue label. Cedar shingles are light weight maintenance free and highly durable. Unlimited sapwood and flat grain are allowed in number 3 grade.
